Arizona Matsuri

Japan festival was held in Phoenix downtown on 26th, he told me it's also called "geek fes" , we were surprised that there were lots of american kids wear Japanese anime costume to attend the event. :D

I saw a few japanese there but not many, and they are all very young, probably university student...I hope I can make some friends here soon..... :D

It's funny that you could never realize how much you love your country, when you live inside, but will be always reminded of the value of your own traditional culture, once you could objectively observe the country from outside.

It was beautiful sunny day on Sunday, since it was heavily raining Saturday night, seems like the rain cleaned up all dust from Arizona desert. :)


日本フェスティバルは、26日に、フィニックスダウンタウンで開催されました。このフェスは、"オタクフェス"とも言うらしいです。彼が教えてくれました。多くのアメリカ人の子供たちが、日本のアニメコスチュームを身にまとい、フェスに訪れているのをみて、とてもびっくりです。

本当数人の日本人を見かけましたが、そんなに多くはありません。そして、みんな、とても若いんです。
恐らく、大学生だろうと・・・。早くこっちでも友達を作れるといいな。。。。。 :D

自分の国に住んでいる時は、どれだけ自分がその国を愛しているかなんて、気がつきもしないんですが、いざ、その国を外から客観的に観察することができたら、自国の伝統的な文化の価値に気づかされるものです。

土曜日の夜に、雨が降り、アリゾナ砂漠からの塵を取り除いてくれたようで、日曜日は、とても天気の良い一日でした。

our special day 19th/Feb

It was heavy raining all day last Saturday, very rare as Arizona weather. I used to hate rainy day, cz Japan has rainy-season which continue for 1-2months straight, but here, you could barely see "water" except visiting lake and pool, very dry and sunny most days. so I can enjoy rainy days now!

And last Saturday 19th/Feb turned to our special day!! He bought our house, brand new very cute and cozy one! :D and it towards to the small park from front entrance, I look forward to be sitting on the grass and drinking wine soon :)

They just start building lately, it's going to be done in no time. :)

先週の土曜日は、凄い雨が一日中降り続いていました。アリゾナの天気としては、とても珍しいです。
以前は、雨の日が嫌いでした、日本は、梅雨の時期が、1-2ヶ月続けてあるから。しかし、こちらは、湖やプール以外で、滅多に"水"を見れなくて、ほぼ毎日とても乾燥しているので、雨の日を楽しむ事が出来ます。

そして先週の土曜日、2/19は、私達にとってスペシャルな日になりましたー。彼が、家を購入したんです。新築のとても可愛い、心地よい家です。そして、前の入り口から、小さな公園につながっています。
芝生の上に座って、ワインを飲めるのを楽しみにしています。

最近、建設が始まりました、そんなに時間がかからず完成しそうです。 :)

reading books

One of his hobbies is reading books, I wish I could read books like him though. I've been kind of fed up reading bunch of docs at work, so sometimes very hard to focus on reading one single book with just quietly sitting for long time. He is currently reading "A History of Japan" , I glanced the book and remember my favorite poem from heike monogatari which I learnt in junior high school. :)
I thought japanese used to have gracious and simple life, I wonder if I can take over those wonderful traditional japanese culture that have been built over multiple generations in my life.

彼の趣味の一つで、読書があります。私も、彼の様に本を読めたらいいのですが。仕事で、沢山のドキュメントを読むことが多く、読書にちょっと愛想をつかしている感じです。なので、静かに座って、一冊の本を集中して読むという事がとても難しかったりします。
現在、彼が読んでいる本で、"日本の歴史"というものに、さっと目を通してみました。
それで、中学時代に習った平家物語の中から、お気に入りだったポエムを思い出しました。
日本人は、とても風情のある、シンプルな生活を送っていたんだなーと思い、こんな素敵な日本の伝統的な文化を果たして今の自分の生活に引き継げるだろうかとちょっと疑問をもってしまいました。

photo editor , Shape Collage

I've been searching good photo editor to create lomography photo lately, but unfortunately free apps I've tried so far were pretty crappy, (If you know some, please let me know!) , but I found interesting photo editor instead,it's called "Shape Collage". You can create various shapes with bunch of photos you select, like attached photo. :) I tried "heart" and "A" shape this time, does it look like heart ? :))

最近、ロモグラフィーのような写真を作成できるフォトエディタを探しているのですが、残念なことに、フリーのアプリは、結構ちゃちいです。。。（もし、良いサイトを知っていたら教えてくださいー！）その代わりに、面白いフォトエディターサイトを見つけました。名前は、Shape Collage。選択した多数の写真で、色んな形を作成できます。添付した写真のように。 :) 今回は、ハート型と "A" を試してみました。ハート型に見えますかー？

Happy Valentines day

Did you have a nice valentines day yesterday!?
We went to The Cheesecake Factory , It's like cheese cake paradise!!
I've never seen soo many different cheese cakes are on the menu :) very hard to pick one from more than 30 different types of cheese cake. :)
He picked Oreo® Cheesecake , and I picked up Chocolate Coconut Cream Cheesecake :P Both were soooo yummy--!

I had a wonderful valentines day with him. :)) Thanks!

昨日のバレンタインデー、楽しく過ごせましたかー？
私達は、The CHeesecake Factory というレストランに行ってきました。ここは、チーズケーキパラダイスです！！これまで、こんなにも多くのチーズケーキがメニューに載っているの、見た事ありません。
30種類以上の異なるタイプのチーズケーキの中から一つを選ぶのってとても大変でした。
彼は、オレオチーズケーキ、私は、チョコレートココナッツクリームチーズケーキを選びました。どちらも
本当に美味しかったです。彼と素敵なバレンタインデーを過ごす事が出来ましたー。

ipad 2 spec

Apple Inc. has started manufacturing a new version of its iPad tablet computer with a built-in camera and faster processor, said people familiar with the matter. The new iPad will be thinner and lighter than the first model, these people said. It will have at least one camera on the front of the device for features like video-conferencing, but the resolution of the display will be similar to the first iPad, these people said. It will also have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor, they said.

I can't wait to play with ipad 2 soon, i think all functionalities would be implemented in ipad2 which ipad 1 should include since before. Also Android unveiled the new tablet lately, called honeycomb, it's going to be a big competition again :)

もうすぐipad 2のリリースが騒がれていますが、これから楽しみです。以前にリリースされたipad に含まれるべきファンクションが今回のipad2では実装されていると思います。
また最近、Androidから新しいタブレット、honeycombがリリースされ、また新たな競争が始まるようです。

wildlife world zoo

We went to the zoo on 5th of Feb, Saturday morning. I looove zoo since I was very young!

I see the difference between Japanese zoo and American zoo, all animals are normally caged up in zoo and we barely touch them or feed them in Japan, but here except savage animals, they are all free to walk around outside of the cage, people can get more closer to animals, and pet them and feed them too sometimes.very interesting! :)

I had a great weekend with all , including super bowl party on Sunday. I still have no idea about american football though, since people around me were sooo excited, I was kind of excited too lol.
but so far, I am still into soccer more..lol

今週の土曜日、2/5に動物園に行きました。私は小さい頃から動物園が大好きです。
日本の動物園とアメリカの動物園には違いがあります、日本では、殆どすべての動物は、檻に入れられ、
めったに触ったり、餌を与えたり出来ません。しかしこちらは、猛獣以外の動物は、檻の外を自由に歩き回り、人々は動物に近寄り、なぜたり、餌を与えたり出来ます。とても面白いです！

今週末はsuper bowl partyも含めて素晴らしい週末でした。未だ、american footballについて全く意味がわかっていませんが、私の周りが凄い興奮していたので、私も何となく楽しめました(笑)
現時点は、やっぱりまだサッカーの方が好きです。(笑)

Moving to IPv6...

I studied about IPv4 and IPv6 in uni, but didn't think it's going to be realized like this soon. It's like one of my dream to see that it's actully used for real. I can't wait to live life with cool electronics with fast internet connection is installed in near future. :))

IPv4とIPv6について、大学時代に勉強したものの、こんなに早く実現するとは思ってもいませんでした。
実際に使われだすのをこの目で見てみたいとずっと夢のように思っていたものです。近未来で、凄い早いインターネットがインストールされた電化製品とともに生活出来る事、これから凄く楽しみです。

私達の家には、チャイニーズマーケットで買った、日本米と炊飯器があります。朝の6時から、お腹がすいて、ライスを作っています。 :D
